Today we were up at 5 am so we could be at the airport 3 hours early…and took a taxi so we didn’t have to figure out how to get across the entirety of Rome to the airport. A good thing we did, and a very good thing I spent a few extra dollars to get upgraded on our security service and luggage…well worth it. However, for all the good it did us…we spent an hour in line to get through passport control. From there off to the lounge to wait for our delayed flight to board. Now here on the plane, we’re about to land after 10 pm Rome time and 4 pm EST. Soon, we’ll get our luggage and take a taxi or shuttle to our hotel and Sarah will come and bring us back to our place tomorrow and the ability to sleep once again in our own bed after 36 days away from home…but a wonderful lifetime experience!
Both mom and I agree, the best part of this adventure was the cruise, where we were pampered and had the same place to go back to each night…no packing or unpacking and best of all…
No figuring out how to get here or there…tryig to figure out what something said or what we needed to do…simply let Viking do everything for us!
