Although we have been here, and seen many of the marvelous sites to see, such as the Sagrada Familia, which is a site one can hardly describe. We’ve also been to Montseratt an hour drive north west of Barcelona…another spectacular sight. So, when we saw there was a tour of the Gothic Quarter: Back to the Origins of the City, we decided we should take this shore excursion to see exactly where Barcelona began. It was to be a Romantic journey to this Living Museum to see the evocative heart of Barcelona, the Barri Gòtic, where the Romans founded a walled settlement. But alas, it was not to be…the tour was cancelled and we chose to remain on the ship to relax and prepare to disembark the next day..
This day however, we simply stayed on board and just enjoyed doing nothing. This was the end of our 22 day cruise across the Southern Atlantic…looking forward to our next adventure tomorrow…
